All Work And No Play Makes Jack A Dull Boy – The Shining – framed handcut paper art
Papercut portrait of Jack Torrance from Stephen King’s novel The Shining made famous in the classic film adaptation starring Jack Nicholson.
This papercut is a handmade original piece and is one-of-a-kind
Mounted in a chunky black frame this single layer of hand cut paper is floated to cast shadows over a background of The Overlook Hotel carpet pattern surrounding a typewritten sheet giving the title of this piece.
A must for horror film fans this unique piece of art can be wall-mounted or be displayed as a freestanding frame.
9x13cm cut, mounted and framed
‘ve always been a Stephen King fan and The Shining is one of my favourite novels. When I watched the film adaptation with Jack Nicholson, he was exactly my image of the character of Jack Torrance from reading the book.
The background of this piece is based on the carpet of the hotel and a classic scene from the film, where Jack sits typing pages and pages of his novel while the Overlook Hotel plays with his mind and we find out that he has been writing the same words over and over again.
All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.
