Cernunnos was the Gaelic god of beasts and wild places. Often called the Horned One, Cernunnos was a mediator of man and nature and appears under many different names throughout history and folklore.

This piece measures 10 x 15cm cut from a single piece of black pearlised paper, and mounted and framed to cast shadows on the green background.

Pagan beliefs and the natural world go hand in hand. I am fascinated by folklore and the image of a Horned God of the forests resonates deeply with my spiritual side. I took inspiration from a twilight picture of a woodland taken by a friend and added in the figure of Cernunnos as a guardian of nature.
