Patch : Insect guardians ~ Stag, Cicada, Mantis

Three beautiful insect designs in an ancient style. Insects have always held a sort of magical significance to me. Their alien bodies and strange behaviors. In all the worlds ecosystems insects play a vital role in the cycle of life and death.

– STAG: Lucanidae, an ancient symbol of strength and fearsome dominance. The larvae feed on dead wood, breaking it down further into the nourishing humus of the forest.

– CICADA: Cicadoidea, immortality, patience, meditation and song. Cicada spend most of their lives safe underground, only emerging at specific intervals to sing and mate.

– MANTIS: Mantodea, Herald of the supernatural, potency of will. Evolving as both predator and prey has given Mantids many highly specialized organs. Some species have a special auditory organ which can pick up the echolocation calls of bats and help them escape.

These  patches are punk to the core, its hand printed and hand cut so expect a few ragged edges.

If your like me you’ll want that edge to fray but for a neat edge just fold under when you sow it.

This patch will be folded to post as it’s too large to send flat so just run an iron over it when it arrives!
