A handmade, weighted, life / full size human skull (faux taxidermy) sewn from felt fabric. Can be used as a doorstop or bookend.

Size Approx: height 16cm, Width 14cm, Depth 17cm,

This skull has been a long time in the making, inspired by St. Leonard’s Crypt, which is in Hythe in Kent, and totally worth a visit! I grew up less than a mile from this ossuary, and vividly remember my childhood visits and return there regularly, to imagine the characters behind the bones. I have weighted this skull to approximately 600 grams so it can be used as a doorstop or a bookend.

This sewn bone is made from ivory coloured felt, I don’t like to use wire in my soft sculpture pieces so some items may require a little bit of gentle manipulation to make them stand or sit. This item is made from fabric and stuffed.

I lovingly handmake each of my pieces, please expect slight variations between your order and what you see in the photo, it will always be beautiful, and full of character.

Customisations are available on request, such as different sizes, colours or decoration etc. I can decorate it in many ways from embroidery and painting to applique, names can also be added.

I create all the patterns for my designs from scratch, so if there is a particular bone or skull you would like me to make, please get in touch, I do take commissions.

This human skull is for decoration only, it is not suitable for children and is not a toy, it is not washable, except for gentle wiping with a damp cloth.

Ethics: The felt fabric that I use is 100% acrylic and the stuffing and thread is 100% polyester, making this item vegan. I am striving for my packaging to be plastic free and recyclable/biodegradable.
