This piece is the Shrews’s fiddle , also known as the neck violin where a persons neck and wrist would be locked into the holes to be humiliated and tortured.
I always found the history of torture devices so disturbingly fascinating, and decided to recreate one (not for those purposes of course!) instead as a piece of art for those who are also fascinated by these.
