Silver Lilith necklace.

Silver Lilith necklace.

A silver Lilith pendant on a silver coloured chain.

Lilith is a female figure in Mesopotamian and Judaic mythology, alternatively the first wife of Adam and supposedly the primordial she-demon. Lilith is cited as having been “banished” from the Garden of Eden for not complying and obeying Adam.

Found in Babylonian mythology as a Goddess in bird form with owls next to her, she is called Ereshkigal or Ishtar and may explain why she was later made a demon.
She has been known by many names throughout history such as Lilith, Ereshigal, Inanna, Astarte and Ishtar.
She is the queen of the night and the underworld. She is a healer and imparter of wisdom. As a Goddess of the night she represents the spirituality of the night, mysteries of the dark, terror, sensuality, independence, and unbridled freedom.

Silver plated.
Pendant measures: 4 x 3.2 cm.
