A handmade “Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ” in a glass bell jar.

Size of the bell jar approx: height 27cm, diameter 15cm

This heart is sewn from bold red coloured felt with machine embroidered decorative elements. This is a very light item made from fabric and stuffed.

The Sacred Heart has lots of symbolism, the three flames represent The Holy Trinity (God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit) and the transformative power of love, with a sunburst of divine light behind the heart, the wound is where Christ was pierced by the lance whilst on the cross. The heart is encircled by the crown of thorns that the Roman soldiers made for Jesus and the cross is also incorporated into the design. “Sacratissimum Cor Iesu” (Latin for Most Sacred Heart of Jesus) is machine embroidered on a label around the base of the heart.

In the Catholic devotion the heart of Jesus is viewed as a symbol of “God’s boundless and passionate love for mankind”

The fabric used in this piece is acrylic felt The stuffing is made from recycled PET- bottles or factory waste, depending on which is available at the time. The thread is 100% polyester, making this item vegan.

My packaging is plastic free and recyclable/biodegradable/reused.
